Second Pan African Media and Information Literacy Conference

UNESCO in partnership with DW Akademie, the United Nation Alliance of Civilization (UNAOC), the Global Alliance for Partnership on Media and Information Literacy (GAPMIL) and the African Centre for Media and Information Literacy (AFRICMIL), organized the 2nd Pan-African Conference on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in Abuja, Nigeria from December 1rst to December 3rd, 2015. The theme of the conference was : "A culture of Dialogue, Communication and Information in a Digitalizing world". 
The conference seeks to bring together students, youth groups, educators, media professionals, librarians, civil societies, ICT specialists, policy makers and regulators in and outside Africa. It afforded stakeholders the opportunity to promote diversity, pluralism, intercultural dialogue and equality as well as draw attention to how MIL empowers citizens.
EducommunicAfrik, as the Burkinabè pioneering Organization specialized on MIL was convene to the conference which aims to create a forum for debate with view to formulating a continental position on media and information literacy education, whilst also bringing together students, youth educators, policy-makers, regulators and others to exchange and share knowledge on good practices concerning the development and implementation of African MIL initiatives for young people.
